The owners of ethical luxury accessories brand Elvis and Kresse had a chance meeting with the London Fire Brigade in 2005. They were shocked to learn that all of London’s damaged decommissioned fire hoses were destined for landfill sites and so set up their accessories label the same year in an effort to use this waste sustainably. Since this time over 175 tons of material has been reclaimed and used by the brand. In 2017 they partnered with accessories super brand, Burberry to re-craft and reuse the off-cut leather waste in their designs. As if this wasn’t enough, they also donate 50% of their annual profits to various charities including the Fire Fighters Charity.
With this combination of incredible ethical credentials and great design work, it’s not hard to see why Make really loves this chic bag by Elvis and Kresse.
The Fire and Hide Clutch Bag comes in a variety of colours and is made exclusively from decommissioned fire hose and lined reclaimed military grade parachute silk. It retails from £150.00 at www.elvisandkresse.com
